I woke to one of those perfect fall sunrises this morning. I grabbed my camera, housecoat, and boots and spent an hour just shooting the light. I’d intended to focus on the foliage, but the way the light called, that was all I could see. It was so quiet that the only sounds were the soft splashing from the brook and the gentle plunk of apples falling from the laden limbs of the trees in our yard, and the quiet footfalls of my dog as she paced along beside me. I took over a hundred shots in that hour. But the peace that sank into me was worth more than all of them put together.
Those are great pics. I'm taking more than I used to, but somehow they never seem to come out a wonderful as the reality was. Not at sunrise though – I'm so not a morning person.
Thank you!
You're right — nothing can be as wonderful as the reality. But trying to capture it is so much fun!
I'm not a morning person, either, but the light just called to me today.
oh – beautiful, indeed!
Thank you! But really, Vermont is so beautiful that you just have to aim a camera at anything to get a great shot.
very pretty morning & I love the old guy! I like those mornings & even tho I'm not really a morning person, I see a lot of them because of the puppies. LOL! Glad you could enjoy & then share, thanks!
You're welcome! Yeah, my Ruby is long past her puppy days, but she's still pretty lively and always up for a romp, but she likes it when I have my camera because she knows then that she'll get a lot of sitting time.
Very pretty. Fall is slowly arriving here (SE PA), my favorite time of year – not too hot and not too cold – usually just right.

Thanks! I love both transition seasons, especially the dramatic temperature changes from day to day. Last week we were having frosts, this week we're in the upper seventies. And just the way the air tingles is wonderful. Enjoy.
